Pippa Cross’s career started at Granada Television. After a period as Head of Development there she became Head of Film and oversaw production of the company’s entire slate, including Jim Sheridan's My Left Foot, Jack and Sarah, House of Mirth, Longitude for Channel 4, and Bloody Sunday. In 2003 she and Janette Day established CrossDay Productions. At CrossDay Pippa has produced films including Shooting Dogs (Michael Caton-Jones), Heartless (Philip Ridley), Chalet Girl, starring Felicity Jones and Ed Westwick, Desert Dancer starring Freida Pinto and the upcoming A Hundred Streets starring Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton. Her most recent production Starfish premiered at Edinburgh in July 2016.
Pippa was on the board of the UK Film Council until it was dissolved, regularly tutors for Microwave and has worked consistently with young producers, directors and writers offering what practical advice she can.
Janette Day began her career in the UK office of 20th Century Fox where she worked in distribution and marketing. She was subsequently senior VP of international at DDA PR and a partner in UK distribution and production company Enterprise Pictures Ltd. She was then Head of Production at Granada Film for eleven years, before setting up independent production company, CrossDay Productions with ex-Granada colleague Pippa Cross. Production highlights for Janette include the much loved Jack and Sarah, Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of Nick Leeson in Rogue Trader, the Academy Award nominated Ghost World, the commercially successful Vanity Fair, and the period piece Summer in February.
Prior to joining CrossDay in early 2013, Sam worked on the film Kick-Ass 2 as the director’s assistant. Previously Sam gained experience at Working Title and Ecosse Film. Since joining CrossDay he has worked on their last three productions, Desert Dancer, 100 Streets and Starfish.
